I Like Your Old Stuff Better Than Your New Stuff: Neo-Bohemians, Hipsters, and the Issue of Authenticity in Subcultural Identity

So, today I got my mark for that essay I wrote on hipsters a couple of weeks ago. 92! Since I’m so stoked with that, I thought I might upload what I wrote for everyone to read. It’s available here in .pdf format, if you fancy.

Of course, much of what I’ve written will be rather obvious to anyone even vaguely familiar with hipsters or with how subcultures work, but as it is an academic piece, I’m sure you realise that my initial target audience was somewhat different! Still, I’d appreciate people’s thoughts and criticisms if anyone does decide to read it.
